Bangkok, Thailand
The Asian Gaelic Games 2025 saw the successes continue for the Singapore Gaelic Lions. Dutifully hosted by Thailand GAA at the Patana school for the second year running, the weekend of 22nd and 23rd November saw the SGL complete another clean sweep of the 4 senior grades, repeating the success of 2023. We were also well represented in the junior grades, reaching the Men’s Junior A Plate Final, the Men’s Junior B Cup Final and the Ladies Junior Cup Final.
In total, the club fielded 4 Men’s Football teams, 2 (and a half!) Ladies’ Football Teams, 3 Hurling teams and 1 Camogie team.
Similar to last year, Singapore were also awarded the Most Valuable Players in each of the senior categories: Michael Neary for Men’s Football, Chantel Marson for Ladies’ Football, Shane Ryan for Hurling and Sinead Kennedy for Camogie.
A special mention also to Paul Carpenter, who was this year’s recipient of the Asian Hall of Fame Award.
A huge thank you to everyone involved with the SGL that made the weekend happen, those at the ACB for organising such a fantastic weekend, and of course to all of the players from all over Asia who took part. See you in 2026 SGL.
