February 8th saw the running of the 9th Lisa Orsi Amazing Race, and this year 16 teams lined up at start/finish line at the Penny Black in Boat Quay. The route took the teams through many iconic Singapore landmarks including Fort Canning, Raffles Place, the National Library and the illustrious Matar MRT station. 11 challenges in total put the teams through their paces; the durian puree station was a particularly unpopular challenge (Matthew Tonkin bravely taking on the marshall role at that location).
Giving No Ducks, consisting of Chris and Rachel Wheeler, Aaron Costello and Rebecca Murray came home in first place (Rumour has it Rachel Wheeler had been practicing origami and eating durian weeks in advance of the race). The best dressed team on the day, as chosen by Lisa’s parents, were G stands for Guzman Y Gomez.
