In the Men’s Camp –

We can now say without a doubt that the Men’s Game is Vicious! Broken Arms, Noses, Spirits – it was war out there. Unsurprisingly the most competitive game (and bloodiest!) by far was Singapore vs. Singapore in the final. Like warring Parents in a divorce court, it was brutal, snide and smug with each side convinced that they’re right. That said it was highly enjoyable to watch – talk about Passion! Ladies, look and learn.

In the end, the brutality paid off with the Sing Men taking home the silverware, a surgical appointment and no shirts.

As for the girls –

‘Team Physio’ – these guys are like mushrooms, they’re reproducing in the humidity. They now number 25 and are to soon start their own colony out in Changi Business Park. In the meantime, the Caoimhe’s/Quivers/Quavers gave their non-Irish team-mates a right mouthful and all Ruth’s will soon be allocated a number.

Being all kinds of youthful they are easily led astray, with Kami K starting the drinking games. Thanks to these Ladies we now have a new team song called ‘In My Pants’. By Day Aisling O’Malley is a mild mannered Physio who can play 3 positions on the pitch. By Night she turns into ‘Dance Off Diva’, challenging all comers and showing Kats and Bla how to vigorously squish their boobs down. Getting all in the face of that Vietnamese Forward, I was afraid the V.C were about to lose a player. Fierce!

Enough about the Nu Wave, lets hear it for the Old Skool. SickNote Sonya came back from her injury exile like a rocket, supplying emotional moments on and off the pitch. Her personal tally of 1-1, giving the White’s their team chant of “Nothing’s gonna change my love for you/you oughta know by now how much I LEURVE EWE”, choreographing Claire D’s Air Lift – it was beautiful work.

JenKo – (roar in strong Kerry accent) JJEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNN!!

JEEEEEEEEENNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!

Jen and Ken came to an understanding – if he quit roaring at her on the pitch, she’d stop roaring at him when off it. Their Truce still holds.

You know you’ve been spending too much time in each others company when enquiries and conversations about Wee don’t raise objections – the frequency, the coloration, the quantity…The heat does crazy things to a person.

Ruairi learnt what it feels like to be a Rapper when he had 26 women screaming his name from the sidelines. Coach Hatchell was later overheard dedicating his goal to the Lioness supporters and wishes that we’d come along and cheer him in Every Single Match. Thanks for your coaching skills Mr. H.! Once again it paid off with a Singapore v Singapore final and claiming the SEA Games ladies cup.

And for the social side of things –

At the Reception, Singapore Ladies worked hard on their popularity by dominating the buffet, the medals and the Boat Race in a decisive fashion. We were all very proud that the Singapore Ladies picked up every medal going including M.V.P. which went to Becs for making it all look so darn easy. Congrats lady!

From the pitch to The Pub where Jen paid 160$ for 2 pints and we staged a mass walk-out. The next venue delivered on its Eastern Promises with Pam stripping from on top of a table, Aine dive-bombing off the bar, the Lads taking over the dance floor, Ken ripping the clothes off any man in his path & the Cup doing the rounds.

Yet another successful tour!
